There is no risk in this behavior. Hepatitis C is not transmitted this way. Millions of people do this kind of thing, and they don't get hepatitis C. I will be honest with you-I did this a few times. And on the top of everything, my husband is infected with hepatitis C. And I am OK.

Picking anything on your body can cause inflammation/boil that can become serious. It is not a good idea to do this. But you will not get hepatitis C this way. It can not happen.

Watch out for staph infections!  MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)  is still on the rise!  Not fun to get & can get serious!

Mothers with HVC are still encouraged to breastfeed their children.   There are many of us here who have lived for years without knowing we had HVC and not passed it on to family members.   I'm really touched by the concern you have for your daughter's welfare, and I am sure you have nothing to worry about.

Once I found out I was HVC I was careful to wash and bandaid any small cuts, so perhaps make that your future routine to alleviate your worry.

so I have a question that has always bugged me? My husband has Hep C and we have a very aggressive yet loving jack russell. Sometimes he nips and even drew blood ....can my dog get hep c if he bites my hubby and breaks the skin so that my husband is bleeding? Say the dog ingests the blood? Would that be cause for concern?

Thx

Do you have Hep C ?  Seems like you're putting yourself through a lot of stress.

Hepatitis C is a blood borne disease. The infected person's blood would have to get into the other person's blood stream. You would have to bleed into an open sore the baby would have.

So NO, that would be impossible.

This will be my last question to you wonderful people on this site -

Question, If I were to have Hep C would this be an issue.

My daughter is 20 months old and I pick her up and drop her off with her mother. Tonight before dropping her off I squeezed one of my old cuts (Not paying attention) and a little blood squeezed out. I wiped it off on my shirt (Very Very small amount 1/8 of a drop) then after I did this I had to take her out of her child seat and bring her in the house. There was no visible blood on my finger anymore (Due to wiping it off on my shirt) Didn't use anything to wash my hands first. Then I touched her blanket and her with my hands to carry her inside. is there any risk involved at all in this? Maybe if she puts her blanket in her mouth etc. she has sensitive red skin but not bleeding. Also before I got her out of the car seat I wiped my cut on a white pc. of paper to see if any blood would transfer but I did not see it with the eye. I would like to pay $5 if possible please Thanks
