what's causing this pain

I've had a very bad pain on my right side of my abdomen where my liver is for more than 2 years .  I suffer from Hepatitis C my doctor has done all kinds of test but they all come back normal I've been to the hospital many times when I feel the pain is so hard that something is going to explode . 3 weeks ago I went to see my doctor for 50th time I got an ultrasound the result is that I have a dense liver &  enlarged spleen .  Could this be the cause  what other thing  can it be?

Sounds to me like everything is hardly normal at all and you should go and get a liver biopsy to find out exactly what stage liver disease you are dealing with.  I don't know anything about speens whatsoever but you need to find a heptologist not a regular primary care doctor and see what he thinks you should do about treating the disease.

Our livers don't really have nerves inside of them to feel pain.  Which is why a liver biopsy is no more painful than an injection.  Some believe that the actual capsule around the liver stretches when the liver is enlarged and that is what is causing pain. Some don't.

Whatever it is it sounds like you need to do something to proactively find out the cause and fix it, asap.
