yey i finally have my SVR,i am cured woohoo!
hi all,i got my last 6 month pcr results last friday n yey yey yey i am cured,o how happy i am.i canyt believe it,it was well worth it n i would do it again if i ever caught it back cos i am with some1 who has hep c,not sayin that its easy to catch or that by sex but there is a slight chance.
yeh yuk u r right i have a paranoia now of all germs cos once u have had a few bad 1s in ya life ya just dont want more.my liver is aching again n its weird as it stopped aching for a while n in last wk its gettin worse so im bit scared cos of my cuts n stuff in my mouth etc,i think il b ok but i cant help but worry lol.think il get a biospsy done to see how damaged my liver is cos my doctors say its fine cos LFTs r fine n i learnt off this site tht it dont mean ya liver is fine,it only tells u how much hepc is gettin killed in ya liver at the time or something like tht.

I think about re-infection, even though I'm not doing anything that would pose a risk. I would think the thought of re-infection would stay with you for awhile and never completely go-away. I suspect, as time goes on we will probably worry less and less.

thank u all sooooo much for ur kind reassuring words but i am still worried n i know u will all prob be mad at me for worry'n bout the kissing thing but i have bad gums n they bleed alot n i have recently been gettin coldsores n lil abrasions in my mouth etc,ggggrrrrh my step mum n a few other ppl who had coldsores helped them selves to my drinks recently n i reck'n thts where i got em from cos in my whole life iv never had coldsores,anyways 80% of world gets em n coldsores alone dont bother me but if my mans got hepc n we pash/kiss lol n i have lil wounds etc(but they wasnt like bleeding from wht i know but they sting a bit when i rinse my mouth in mouthwash so im thinkin tht they r still open wounds if they sting)that i will get his hepc n he dont even knoiw his strain...he could have morte than 1 etc n i might not be as lucky 2nd round of tx n if he is geno 1 or 4 then i prob wont beat it cos i had geno 3,but i dont want him to get coldsores either,gggrrrh i h8 viruses they screw everything n i cant relax bout this....its really affecting my stress levels which is prob bringing my coldsores out so a m8 said cos they only come out when stressed n sick.im scared to full on kiss now :( n i know u all prob think im selfish but i have had hep c for 15 yrs from the age of 15 n now im 30 n i have a brand new start on life n i know i have liver damage cos it aches still n i drank alot in my days n if i get it back or worse get a harsher strain than wht i had n not cure then il just be sooooo shattered n this guy isnt the greatest guy n i really dont know if he is the 1 as he has lots of probs etc n the more i know him the more i see he prob isnt right....so is it worth it?
but if id never had hep c b4 n my liver was in gd condition i wouldnt care as much n i would def take the risk,or if we was married etc then tht be diff but we dont even know if we staying 2geva yet as we have diff ways of life but ya never know but why risk it if we aint guna stay 2geva.when i had hep c i was basically with my ex who had same strain from age of 19 n few others had hep c too but i never had cuts n tht in my mouth back then n coldsores etc n i feel just aweful but my health n my lil gal is priority cos her dad is very very ill from hep c n he has diabetes type 1 too n he cant look after her so i want her to have a healthy mum who can look after her great.i never planned to have kids with this virus but the pill didnt work for just 2 wks of yrs of it workin cos i had gastro lol but she is healthy n hep c FREE n thank god for tht hey.
im sorry im raving on a bit,its cos im stressed n love can do tht to u,it can be great but also hurt like hell n i dont wanna hurt him as its hurtin me like crazy to not b able to relax n just kiss n tht without stressing.

Congrats! I just finished 48 weeks of TX, and go in for the 1 month post TX labs in about 2 weeks. Thanks for giving us hope! Glad you hung in there. BTW, neither my wife or children have it and I didn't know I had it for 35 years! Fortunatley, It is very difficult to contract without needles, transfusuions, etc.

You're not going to catch it that way! Your lips would need to be cracked and bleeding and your man, too. And they would be painful. I don't think that kissing would be pleasurable at that point. And frankly, I do not think that you would allow your lips become so messed up in the first place.

I have been married as long as I have had Hep c 17+ years and my husband doesn't have it. He gets tested every few years and is fine.

First congrats on being SVR. As for kissing, if that would pass along HCV then all of our spouses, children, grandkids, maybe even neighbors :) would have it. Enjoy your SVR and try not to stress to much:)

Don't share any personal items... razors, toothbrushes, clippers, etc. because I DID catch mine from my ex........... You wouldn't want to go through tx again if you could avoid it.
