All my old friends!!! I found my way back...

After trying to remember my password for at least 10 minutes...here I am...and SO happy to see so many familiar names.  Hope you are all doing well.  I would love updates!!!  Here is "ours"...Amanda first...

She is doing really well, still hcv positive, cirrhosis....BUT all liver enzymes are in the "almost" normal range, feels great, and is very stable.  Went to NY today to see the Doc..and he was happy to say he could not feel her liver or spleen...she had MRI...unchanged.  So now we need to stay stable until February (the projected date of arrival for Telaprevir)..

Amanda will be graduating college in December and we are all so proud of her.  She has remained strong and positive these past 7 years...YUP its been 7 years since she was first diagnosed and been member of this wonderful forum.

As for me...divorced 3 years now.. feeling like a human again..been a very tough time.  Ex basically abandoned his girls and fled to Florida..  I have come a very long way these past few years and I have to say I feel peaceful and hopeful.  It feels nice.  We recently moved about 10 miles South and I love it.. I still am hcv positive as well, but remain healthy.  My liver enzymes have never moved out of the normal range.. Still wish I could change places with Amanda...

I really have missed all of you.

Mike, Elaine, Deb, Libby, Andy...and...and....ALL of YOU!

Much Love,

Jodi

Hi there mremeet, great you looked in.  My liver is still in good shape thanks, and just as well seeing as it's taking foreeeeever for these new drugs to arrive on the shelves.  Hope you are getting on with your life and never looked back after SVR, well hardly ever.  Yeah, those halcyon days when we all looked like scalded meat.  I so miss that - not.  Nothing like a drugs trial for a bit of sport, eh.

take care,
dointime

Hey to you guys too! Hi to everyone, been a long time. Glad to see so many familiar faces around. I miss the old days with stories about uber-rashes and guillotine biopsy sampling needles. Wow, those were the days. GOOD TIMES! ;-)

Hey travelmom, glad to hear you and Amanda are doing ok! I only visit here occasionally anymore, but saw your name and wanted to say howdy. Hope things work out when the telaprevir becomes available and this time with riba. Same goes for you dointime, hope all is well with you. Hopefully you're keeping your chin up and planning your next move. Glad to hear the liver's still in the F1/F2 zone (presumably?). May we all be cured and live long, happy lives.

You were kind of before my time here, but I have read many of your posts.  Your daughter is one remarkable young lady (and so are you).  I do so hope that the new round of drugs will benefit us all and especially her.

Good luck to you both

Hello, to my dear friend!  I'm missed hearing from you!  I'm still hanging in there, too.  Regretfully, I haven't graduated from college ever, but that is more from other reasons..  I have, however been trying to keep active with exercising and volunteer work.  It keeps my mind off of thinking about the Hep and the fact that nothing that I've tried to use on it has done what it was supposed to...   But, if you can remain as positive and upbeat as you are with the two of you having it and all..., then I suppose I should try to get that mindset.  My game plan is a bit different though.  I will not treat with Telaprevir again when it gets approved.  If Boceprevir ever gets approved and I can find a way to get it paid for, then I will give it a whirl.  I might also consider a trial if it was using the 4 drugs Riba, Peg, A polymerase inhib + A protease inhib.,   but that would be a big stretch because most of the trials don't want to take people who have been exposed to a P.I..   Anyhow, I had another biopsy and it was actually pretty encouraging as far as lack of any progression.  My LFT's have bounced back and forth between 60-80, which is not so bad I don't think.  I'm at the 27 yr. mark of having Hep C so, overall, not doing bad at all.  My son is doing pretty well right now, too, which is a big load off of my mind and certainly reduces a stressor.   Stay in touch with us my friend!  I've been wondering about you and Amanda!  Ever hear from our good friend, M.K.??   Susan400/libby

Hey there,

I last heard from you around the time I did the telaprevir trial.  As I remember, didn't Amanda do that trial too?  So I'm confused.  Is she going to give telaprevir another try and what about resistance?  I often thought about Amanda and wondered how she was doing so it's fantastic to hear from you that you are both doing well.

I am still hcv pos. and waiting for new treatments.  My liver is fine, I just get tired a lot.

Wow, Jody—very cool to see you post again. I’m glad to hear Amanda is hanging in there too; sorry to hear about your marriage, but sometimes it’s the best route to take, I guess. Will you both treat again at the same time once new drugs avail themselves?

My very best to you both-

Bill
