Did you realize MH is tracking you?

Many websites we visit track what we look at on their site and give us no clue in what type of data they are gathering during our visits.  MH has 5 entities that track each of your visits: 1 social network (Facebook Connect) and 4 companies (Doubleclick, Google Adsense, Omniture, Comscore Beacon) tracking every click.   Some even collect data on where you went before and after your visit, and more.  Interesting, eh??  And I thought the advertising was annoying.

Interesting...I had noticed recently that topics discussed here sometimes seem to follow me in advertisements when I go to my mailbox at yahoo...
I wondered if there was a connection.
Well you can be sure they make a pretty penny on our comments and clicks, too bad they don't give us a share. I guess it is our compensation that they are not charging us for using the site. lol :-)

Funny you guys! When I obsessed over my hair loss I was getting adds for weaves and wigs.

What gets me is sometimes I will check a person's status here and on their page, advertisements will pop up that I can only imagine comes from *their* interests/searches. Don't want to embarrass anyone but be careful...rofl

OMG, I don't visit the social community often enough, you guys are SO funny! After all the years of listening to hype about how tracking and targeted advertisements were really all about making life more convenient for us, I especially love Candyman's idea of a website to handle our everyday memory stuff for us – now that's a kind of targeted "service" I could really use!
