Just 4 weeks to go.....

I have had 48 injections now out of 52, I'm in Spain and they do a 52 week course. It is a time for looking back over the year, it is a time of recalling all the unbearable side affects and realising I am bearing them, I don't know if my mouth is better or if I have just got used to the pain, the ulcers and of course that lovely little outburst of candida, oral thrush, which has been with me from a couple of months in. It is time to look back at all the times I found solace in this forum, reassured that I'm not the only one and gleaning any bits of advice, dietary or medicinal. I have cried more times in this forum than when watching Bambi, sometimes the only reason is that I identify so much with you guys. I saw my consultant today and as I've been plagued with diarrea for over two weeks now was on point of quitting until you guys urged me on, an hour at a time, a day, a week.... only 4 left!! My consultant has reduced my Ribavirina to 800 and the pegasus to 135mg, he says after doing 48 weeks at full dose this won't be a problem and the main concern is my weight is now down to 50 kilos. I have meds for the diarrea now too so everything crossed I'll complete. I don't see my consultant until a month after my last injection so I guess that will be moment of truth for me.So here I am still hanging on by what's left of my finger-nails sending you all a huge Thank You :-) xx

Those mouth ulcers will totally be gone for good about two weeks after you stop the interferon (that is how you can tell how long it really stays in your system) I hated all those mouth problems but yours will soon be long gone.

Hang in there it's along road but you made it!!!!!!!  You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!
