It's been a long, long time

Just wanted to shout out to all of you who might still remember me. I treated for 8 months during 2008 / 2009 and got SVR. I count myself as very lucky that I got rid of it the first time around. It took some time for my memory and cognitive functions to return to somewhat normal. Am still not the way I was before though.

Despite, I have this year finished a course of Anatomy and Physiology, taken a Fitness Instructor and last week got certified as a Personal Trainer. Thinking that I was in bed for almost one year during treatment, as I was so heavily affected by the meds that I couldn't do anything, this is almost like a miracle. I have been working out at the gym, mostly with free weights (Barbells & dumbbells) for the last 1 1/2 years and become really strong.

Of course I'm pleased with myself, but the reason I am writing this is not to brag.  I just want to say to the people who are still treating or have just finished, that there is a life after TX. That it is possible to get your strength and your brain back. You just gotta keep trying!

Sending you all loads of hugs and Happy Seasons Greetings!!!!

Marcia

Unfortunately, I just had my 12 wk post TX viral load drawn last week and the CMA in my doctor's office called me Fri. AM.  He said, I hate to tell you bad news right before Christmas, but you relapsed..your virus was detected again.  So, that was disappointing news. I keep hoping one day..

I do recall your name though I'm sorry to say I  can't remember too much. Did you have the pic with the red shoes ??

Anyway, it's good to see some old names pop up and glad to hear you are well.

Thank you candyman... The grandson is 4 and is a big boy now. He speaks both Danish and English, but sometimes mixes them up. So cute. My husband is awaiting 2 more grandkids, so he'll be up at 6. My kids got some catching up to do. :-)  Not gonna happen any time soon though.

Yes, Marcia, I remember you!  Great news, Magnum and I are both undetected!  Yaahooo, and now he's wearing red shoes on the stage-dancing... and I'm wearing them, too!    Well, maybe not literally, but definitely figuratively.  Magnum keeps coming on here cracking us all up with his 'funny lines'.  I couldn't believe it when I got my first undetected viral load ever.  It was on the Sovaldi, Peg and Riba.  I became undetected 4 wks into the TX.  I worked out all through my treatment, but had to ease up a bit on day after PEG shot.  I was und on 8 wk tx viral load.  And then, again, on 1 wk post TX viral load.  It was only a 12 wk TX for me.  Today, I just had my 12 wk post TX viral load drawn and I'm praying hard that it will still be undetected.  It's great to hear that you're doing so well. Glad you stopped in.  Susan400
