It has been 2 years since I was here. I started tx and stopped after 8 wks and never followed up with my blood work. I had to do a viral load the other day for another reason and to my surprise it came back undetected. The arthritis doctor told me
to follow up with the gastro to make sure he was reading it correctly. How long do I have to be undetected to have Hep C wiped from my record?

Hi Paulalynn,

I agree with your arthritis doctor; better have a GI or hepatologist review labs;,sometimes the results can be misleading to someone not trained to interpret them.

Unfortunately, even if you achieved SVR, your HCV antibodies persist for years, if not for life. I’m not sure what you mean by getting the disease ‘wiped from your record’, but it doesn’t quite work that way. Hopefully, your doctor will go over the details with you when you see him. Good luck with the upcoming appointment-

If it has been 2 years since you were on tx and you are really UND... you are SVR!!!!! Of course that is based on what my brain can remember at week 39 of tx.
