WOW - biopsy Good News

I just received a call from my family doctor.  He said the biopsy result was no liver damage.  He called it a stage 0.  He will send the report to the hepatologist and I will get a copy tomorrow, but his recommendation was to come back in 5 YEARS and check it again.

While he is only a General MD, I think it is GOOD NEWS.

It really amazes me with a VL of 19 million one year ago and heavy beer drinking for the past 35+ years.  I'll still wait unitl I hear from the specialist, but for now I feel good.

I will share the details of the report tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your suppoort during this waiting period.

Not to worry...we've got lots of worms.  Beside the just the boat ride and watching the whales and dolphins is good for what ails you.

I'd love to go fishing, unfortunately, I usually end up just drowning worms. Smiling, Ant B

Dear I.A.T.W. I've hemmed and hawed about sending these words to you. I wasn't sure that you'd take my comment in the same caring way that I mean it. So, after much consideration, I find myself unable to hold back, so here goes: Coo Coo Ka Choo! Hugs, Ant B

Well that ends my day on a much better note!!  I got a call earlier from a buddy who just got the news today that he is UND at 12 weeks.. and now your biopsy news!!   That's great.  Gives you time...time to decide what you want to do and that is an excellent prognosis for you.

I agree with Brent though and partly because of what I know of his situation and others....alot can change in five years, particularly for those of us who are older.  I'd rather see you go back in 2 years or at most, 3 years.  Don't wait 5 years.

Having said that... this is stupendous news and a sincere congratulations, Yellowfin.

All the very best ongoing to you!!

Trish

Great news about the biopsy!

But I would be cautions about waiting five years for another one. That is the advice I received long ago. I have posted my own cautionary tale here before, so I won't repeat it.

I don't mean to rain on your parade or worry you. I just would hate to see someone's opportunity for TX, rather than transplant get away. I personally think that 5 years is too long to wait.

Best of luck.
Brent

P.S. That is some fish in your picture!
