Hope you have an easier ride than some of us posters.

After reading everyone's response I tend to agree with The Stevenn King Novel.
Not the end of the world for me but, hair loss, Riba moood swings that are unbearable, irching, fatigue, weakness and for a year its a long time. Its a constant push!
In the beginning of tx I was ok and couldnt sleep...now I need to be pryed out of my bed I could sleep 24/7. Good news-no rescue drugs, blood stable all thru, no infections, or illnesses  on top of tx. Except for acute psoriasias in my scalp and ears.

Tx is a drag.....and a long drag for me.

There have people that didnt whine or complained about it to much,

Everyone is so different.

fluffy dolls....rain...a cool breeze on a hot summer day...spring....butterfly's...a babies breath...your first blo job.

Other than that....it kinda suks. But it's doable. As I've said a billion times...If it was that hard, no one could do it.

Treatment was like a piece of cake I don’t know what most are talking about. I had no problems with it at all, well just a little fatigue now and then but other than that it is just another day. Other than losing 30lbs, thing of hair, rash from hell, numerous lung infections, nad bleeds, blood work all over the place, one mild painful torsion experience, one infraction, several psychological episodes, but I made it to the end of treatment un scaved by what most suffer. If you’re ready jump on in the water but you must ware a hood for the water comes slowly. lose

Seriously tho, it is a hard road to hoe for 48 weeks and it is best to have everything that needs to be done, done! before starting treatment. Also, check to see if your insurance may change at the beginning of the new year for this can be a minor set back and a lot of needless panic.

Meet,

I like the Dr. Phibes analogy!

Grateful,

Personally I think treatment *****! It is doable but it not fun. I think what I like best is how there is not a real predictable pattern for me. Every day is like a new adventure LOL!!! I am able to work but get real tired mostly.

I became Dr Phibes when I treated. Well, except he had better skin and color than I did.

I am in week 39. Treatment for me has not been a breeze. However some people do sail thru and others have different side effects at different times of treatment. It constantly changes the sides. I personally have found the treatment to be very difficult
many sides on the flipside I havent needed rescue drugs.
Im anemic but holdong at a steady number of 10.6 thruout.
Its a very long road depending how long you will be treating.
Only advice I can offer is try to be patient with yourself and know you are tryng tohelp  yourself

My sides have been, itching, loss of hair, irritability, fatigue. Severe skin issues.

I am in week 57 weeks into a 72 week treatment. It's no fun, but doable. I have found the weeks since around 52 to be a little more difficult. Not anything new, just more fatigue due to anemia. Prescriptions from the doctor have helped with side effects (depression, itching, sleeplessnes) and I have started Epogen for the anemia, which I think is just starting to work. With luck, it will get me through the final months of treatment. There seems to be not much that can be done about the "brain fog". There's a good argument that that has nothing to do with treatment, in my case.  :)

Good luck! More power to you whatever your situation and decisions.

Melinda, has said it best.

It is diferent for everyone, i am treating for 48 weeks, I am in week 33.  I have my share of diffcult side effects, and i have also had weeks where i felt almost normal.
I have been UND since week 12 and I hope to achieve SVR when i complete the Tx.

I could not have done it without this forum, i was educated here, cheered on here, allowed to whine, cry and laugh...so you have come to the right spot.

Good luck ~~

Peace

J, treatment is different for everyone...It can come with mild and annoying side effects for some, and be so debilitating for others that they cannot complete it...You can bounce right back afterwards, or have life-long problems from doing it. It is chemotherapy...
I've viewed mine like going through a difficult pregnancy...It had it's trials and times I wanted to quit because I felt so miserable, but it did have an end. And a hopefully wonderful result when it was over...For some, the treatment lasts only 24 weeks...for others, over a year...(My hat is off to them, by the way!)
If you decide to go through with it, surround yourself with a good support group...Prepare financially, just in case you can't work, and educate yourself...There is so much to know...Janis and Friends, or Hepcentral.com are good sources of info...Come here and ask lots of questions...Take care...                   ~Melinda
