wassup....Kissin' your boo boo, WAIT A MINUTE, DID YOU GET THAT SHOT IN YOUR ARM??? If not I take back the kiss......
LMAO! Too late! You notice she didn't say where she did it,lol!
mm.....feeling good I hope!
LL
You are too funny! I feel more relieved than silly! The shot went well (after I dropped the darned thing!) and I am doing pretty good so far...Each day brings a new side, but nothing big...although, I "spaced out" a bit yesterday while driving the freeway...forgot I was driving for a moment!LOL...No mishaps...Ty for the hugs!
Well, from your last post, I'm assuming that you've had your first shot. How did it go? Are you feeling silly for having been so worried? (I sure hope so!!) I have yet to take that step that you took today! Congratulations, Sweetie, I Know your strong, 'cause you never could have made it as a paramedic, if you weren't. Right on, lady. Wishing you no, (or mild) if any sx. Kill them cooties!!!! Kissin' your boo boo, WAIT A MINUTE, DID YOU GET THAT SHOT IN YOUR ARM??? If not I take back the kiss. But here's a hug anyhow, Ant B
What a time for company! LOL...Sigh...15 min countdown, and time to leave for Dr appt for shot...I'm so glad your tx is going great so far! I am hoping mine will be the same...I'm one of those "planning" people (have to write everything down!), not the "born organized" type (aka BO people!LOL)...So, I've written down an easy to do goal for each day for the next month...You, know, those little things that never seem to get done...Anyhow, I'm hoping "first shot" is going to be anticlimatic, and I'll wonder by the end of the week why I stressed over it! LOL...Thanks again all for your support!
Hi Melinda!
Sorry I have been out of touch... We''ve had a last minute out of town visitor. Let me give all newbies some advice: Don't let them come, even if they beg!! :-) It hasn't been easy having someone in my space to say the least...
Anyway, glad to hear you're gonna start today!! I'm also glad to hear that you *might* be considering a job change... seems like there's high risk in your profession...
So, being a paramedic, you're not nervous about the injection, right? Just about the effects of the medicine? I hope it goes as easy for you as it did for me... I just did my third injection and it went smoothly too... Can't tell about sx though, because my whole world has been topsy turvy with company and all...
Take care... good luck... and let us all know how it goes, okay?
Thinking good thoughts for you... pK
Congratulations! On the first step of your journey, may it be easy for you in the coming weeks.

Thanks for your wonderful posts...I feel very fortunate to have such support from so many people...I'll bet that, on Tuesday, I'll be dancing in the light of post shot day, and the realization that I won't be expected back to work for 5 weeks (or longer) will finally hit...:) I a couple weeks, I'll be one saying to newbies, "Eh, it wasn't so bad"...LOL Thanks again...
I just want to tell you congratulations on getting started with your tx. Just like life itself, you have no idea what each day will bring until it's here...so worrying about it is wasted energy....save it for what DOES come and I'm sure being a mom of a 9 year old you have learned to deal with everything that comes your way for her sake....and you will deal with this too...for her sake. Keep her as your motivation and remind yourself you do this not only for you but for her.
I wish you all the best!! And remember everyone's here to support you as you go along and you are NOT alone through this.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow!! Good luck!!
Trish
Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping these 24 weeks pass quickly for you...with the gold ring of an SVR as well.

The waiting is the hardest thing! I was sure I would turn into some toad or something. My life as I knew it would be over. Not so! I never turned into a toad. Now my first shot nothing happened for a while. I waited and waited. About 24 hours later the next afternoon, I started feeling really cold, I mean wanting piles of blankets cold. My daughter in law was here and complied with my request, plus brought me a wool hat. It was 80 degrees outside! she patronized me while I kept complaining of how cold it was. "yes, Linda, it is cold!' That made me feel a bit better. I laugh now, but that first shot was the only one that happened. Yeah, I had some awful feelings as the next shots came and went, but I never turned into a toad. That was my biggest fear! You will be fine. Keep posting and letting us help you through it all! Remember, that we don't die from Hep C, usually something else! I'll be thinking about you all, or ya'll!
Linda
All the best to you wiht your first shot....the time wil go by incredibly fast. 24 weeks, while not a walk in the park, is very doable. walrus did week 33 last Friday...and he has 39 more to go. So, maybe put in perspective---he'd had been thrilled to go 24. Many people on here are **** 3 times that...so you CAN do 24! You might not even get very sick. AND your chances of completely clearing are really good.
All the best,
Liz
I will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending lots of positive, healing energy your way.

The first shot, and side effects were non eventful for me.
Absolutely NOTHING!
Meds take some time to accumulate in your system.
just speaking for myself, on my first shot day? I'm seriously going to be taking an ativan, or some tranq...sometimes, there is better living through chemicals! lol...best of luck to you!
Congratulations on getting to this point - It seems like there is so much to do to get there. I am hoping to start next month and am a 2B so I'll be interested in your progress. I am pretty concerned about the sides as I am already sumptomatic and have RA which will be exasterbated by the tx. I am also alergic to many drugs....so keep me posted.
You'll be fine!!!!!!!!!!!! Geno 2 24 weeks be over for ya know it!!!!!!!!!!! Spend as much time as you can with the daughter cause they grow fast and you can never make up for the time you missed!!!!!!!
Oops, I see etgal is 2b, are you geno 2 or 3 medicmommy??
PLEASE don't waste strength on the worries of 1st dose (I know, easily said, not easy to do!) I was/am pretty 'drug phobic'...was VERY when I had to start this. It was HUGE for me to do shots and capsules and so on! My family/friends were very worried as they thought I'd run out and never start! I walked in there, said 'LETS GET THIS DONE', slammed it all and went out to eat! I did.....take a valium (NP said to, gave it to me!)
If your able, no issues....what the heck, use one!
Can't wait to see both your 'almost done' post in 24 weeks :)
LL
...(Not such a bad thing! Maybe I'll be able to keep my house clean...LOL...
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, now that's a maybe, lol! The quilt is a good idea tho!!
As you know...I'm also 2b, in my last week of tx :) :)
I feel for you, that pre-tx jitters is rough. I just can't stress what a waste of time it was tho, REALLY!! I did my dose's, spent hours 'waiting' and not much at all! Many of my shots have been 'okay', only a few hell ones! I was surprised how 'okay' I felt, like expecting a tornado and getting a little storm!! The sides (IF) are a bit gradual most the time, you'll know if your Hgb goes down as you'll be exhausted to even go shower and so on. Remember NYgirls tip on the GREEN bottle of Gold Bond (green/red). Anytime a rash would start, I'd use it and never got bad.
YOU'LL BE FINE! Keep thinking of that day after shot feeling....."I DID IT!"
Looking forward to a Tues. am post saying 'that wasn't so bad' :)
LL
I hope this new journey goes off with little distress. I'm sure I'll be standing in your footprints in the near future. 2b and little liver damage. I'll be watching your progress with a close eye. I've been wearing out my worry wheel on getting started with tx. I'm thinking maybe I'll be so wore-out on thinking and fretting over this that I'll just be 'thrilled' to have the meds show up - lol - that's a far stretch :)
Seriously - I do hope your 1st shot day is completely uneventful and you post back to say - not a big deal.
etgal.
