SVR after triple therapy

I am UND in a lab last week (9 months after incevik triple therapy). Numbers HGB, platelets, enzymes are all normal.

I had HCV for more than 20 years after a blood transfusion. Liver enzymes were moderately elevated and this was the only count that made my doctor check for HCV before starting the treatment. I had a viral load 2.2 million and all the other numbers except enzymes were normal.

During the treatment my HGB counts never went below 13 but around 20th week I felt completely drained, in fact I managed well during the first 12 weeks of incevik but after that my platelet count was around 70 for nearly two months. I am happy that I took forum help and advice during those difficult days.

The following were the significant changes I saw starting 4-5 months after the treatment.

Ability to work longer hours easily.
Quickly energizing after a meal or snack.
Taking things a lot lightly without thinking too much about negativity.
Think more clearly quickly.

After seeing these changes, I feel that anyone who has been diagnosed with HCV should start the treatment as soon as possible as we would know what we missed in our life only after the cure. Thinking of my past sometimes I feel very sorry for my family and friends who were accommodative without knowing why I was like that at times. Now my colleagues look at me and think that I could have been in a far better position for my ability than what I am now (they don't I had HCV all these days).

So, please do not think that HCV is a slowly progressing decease and we can wait for the treatment, that's is not right. It doesn't just affect the body/liver, it affects the mind also greatly. We would do lot better with cure than what we can with the decease.

Thanks.

Congratulations on attaining SVR! Thanks so much for posting and letting us know. It is also wonderful that you are feeling so much better after treatment.

I agree with you about treating and I encourage people who have Hep C to treat sooner rather than later. I never realized how bad I was feeling from Hep C until I treated and then felt so much better after treatment. It is great not to always be tired. It is great to have energy and pep and motivation and stamina. I feel better than I have for 20 years. So I understand exactly what you mean.

Best of wishes for the future. Enjoy your new Hep C free life.  : )

That's amazing that you're doing so much better after attaining SVR. It's so encouraging to hear all the good news you have posted. Thank you for that and a big congrats to you!
I'm looking to doing as well as you have said about better energy, clearer thinking, able to work longer and more positive thoughts, once I decide to treat again in the future. I'm hoping to finally get my SVR next time around, the new meds look very promising.
Best wishes to you and to a better quality of life now with your SVR, sounds like your already on that path, yahoooo!
