supplements

my husband just took his second shot and he is really sick. he can not work. he has been in pain sense the first day. i was wondering if anyone knows if taking milk thistle and other liver supplements are ok to use during treatment.

he isnt taking anything yet. i wanted some feedback before he did. the pain that i am talking about is just all over aching. he hurts everywhere. he was itchy and i gave him benadryl. but thats it.

No - you may NOT take milk thistle during treatment as it can compromise the efficacy of the treatment drugs.

And make sure he does not take a vitamin with iron in it.......very important as we are told that iron assists the virus in replication.

Please have him stop the milk thistle right away.

What are his side effects - what do you mean he is in pain?  Maybe we can figure out how to help him.

You need to check with his Hep., alot of doc dont want you taking supplements during tx. Good Luck

I've never had treatment before, but I wouldn't go and take something that may stir up those liver enzymes.  He might feel worse after that, hopefully someone will come by and lead the way for you.  God Bless
