Hiatus Hernia & Diverticulum

Hi there,

I have been diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia and an esophageal diverticulum.

I am very symptomatic and have constant belching, indigestion and discomfort but oddly no heartburn.

I recently began using the IQoro neuromuscular training device which is recommended for hiatus hernia sufferers, but since starting using the device I have developed additional symptoms, such as a loud creaking/growling swallow.

My question is this: could the IQoro which enhances negative pressure in the esophagus have (a) caused the diverticulum or (b) worsen a diverticulum which may have been present already?

Also, can anyone give me an idea about what might be causing the loud growling/creaking sound when I swallow?

Thanks everyone,

Stuart
