Am I at High Possibility of Being Herpes Infected?

Greetings dear experts,

I am a 22 years old male and I had a protected sexual encounter with a sex worker in Thailand during my vacation exactly 4 months ago. I only performed vaginal protected sex on her and dont remember seeing any sores at her genitals during intercourse. I am also pretty sure that the condom did not fail. However, I am quite worried of having been infected with Genital Herpes because I read that transmission can still occur without outbreaks via virus shedding at normal looking skin. I didnt touch her genitals with my hands and the skin to skin contact was mostly at thighs region and groin region. Is it possible for virus shedding at those areas and infected me?

I dont remember having any outbreaks since the one-time incident but i do remember having a painful pimple kind of thing nearby my anus but it was only one, not in groups and occured 2-3 weeks after exposure. Around that time i also had redness and sensitive and perhaps rough skin at the region behind scrotum (in between the legs). Are these any indication of Genital Herpes? And assessing my incident, am I at high risk of being infected? Should i get tested for confirming if I have Genital Herpes or not?

Please give me expert advice on this, to console my deep worry, thank you so much!

Hi, firstly your risk for contracting hsv genital from a one time affair using condoms where she did not have any sores at the time would be close to zero. Also any first time outbreak would occur at point of contact, like your pubic mound area not your scrotum. And any concern for shedding on the thighs would not be something to be worried about at all. If your concerned, the answer is simple, have a blood test or if any new irritation arise, have them swabbed.
