All,

New to this forum have a quick question. I was tested for herpes about 6 months ago and came back negative.  about two months ago I received oral sex from a girl for about a minute but that was it. A month after that I noticed two red dots the shaft of my penis close together. They were slightly elevated but didnt hurt and werent open sores. I went to a doctor becuase I was concerned who said he didnt think it was anything and took a culture test and it came back negative. Another month has gone by and those dots are back again about the same place. I guess my question is if I was somehow to have herpes would I have noticed? The dots arent painful or open maybe they are just skin iritation.

Just looking for some peace of mind. Seems odd they popped up twice but from what Ive read if you have herpes you would obviously see more than two dots. Sorry little ignorant on the subject.

Thanks all for the help.

Yes your overly concerned as its not that easy with oral sex and no lip sores at the time.

its not that easy, but it IS possible right? Im currently in the same situation as OP. Why is it less likely? I have a red bump on the head of my penis. ive never had open sores, just very sore skin and mild pain in my shaft.

Is it easy to transmit through receiving oral sex? I guess Im asking because I feel like I was tested and it came back negative and not like I noticed any open sores on my partner mouth. I guess am I being neurotic by getting tested again when they arent open sores and have had negative tests in the past.

If you had herpes you'd know it. usually the first herpes outbreak is the worse open sores an all, and its takes a little while to clear up.
Some times the skin down there can be a little bit strange.
But if you had a culture test and it came back negative then I guess its negative!

I tend to use a bar of tea tree oil soap to clean my genitals in the shower its a nice soap with anti bacterial and anti viral properties I find it helps to make sure your skin is good and clean down there to avoid any rashes or outbreaks from other perfumey soaps. which could cause bumps.
But for two bumps to be reoccurring in the same place thats odd, but could be nothing. I would wait and see if it happens again, if so then visit the doctor once more and let them know about this reoccurrence.

But I highly doubt its herpes!!

Ok sounds good. So you can have herpes and see no symptoms?

Testing would be recommended if your sexually active for other peoples protection.

Do you recommend testing even with no symptoms? Only thing I noticed is the red dots.

Great thank you for the reply. Just out of curiosity I know they say some STDs including herpes can lay dormant. Is that possible? Or if you have it you would know.

Thanks

Hi, red dots as your describing would be just a skin irritation as your suggesting. Herpes are blister type lesions that open and release clear liguid and would be painful.
Very often when the skin is tramatized, the irritations would appear in the same spot.
