Are these Genital herpes from HSV2?

I had an encounter with a prostitute 7 days ago. She licked my balls twice for like 5-10 seconds and put a condom on me and had vaginal sex for like 2 mins. My groin area got a little irritated last night and was scratching the side of my testicles. After a few scratch idk if my fingernails broke the skin or touched the sore, it stinks a little. So I went and checked and saw this. Do these look like genital herpes to you at all?

It doesn't look like it, and your risk is really low for herpes - a couple of licks isn't going to transmit it, and condom-protected sex is very low risk.

It does look like fingernail scratches, but you should let a doctor see it to know for sure. If they think it's herpes, insist that they do a type specific culture or a PCR swab on it. INSIST on that. A visual diagnosis of herpes is often wrong.

I wouldn't worry too much, since your risk was really low, but testing is the only way to know for sure.

Thank you for your prompt comment!

Today the sore/scratch looks like its starting to fade with crust over blood streak residue type of appearance.

I don't think I am going to see a doctor unless it gets worst and intensify because right now I am not experiencing any discomfort or pain.

But I am planning to get an std test since I am worried about contracting HIV. I know it was a protected sex, but I am concerned that when I ejaculated she sat on me for a good  minute before getting up to remove the condom (My penis was not as erected but the condom did not slip and didn't break). Do you think I had any risk at all from that encounter? Also, I will get an antibody test for HSV2, how accurate is it at 4 weeks? I mean if my rash is indeed HSV2, would my body produce antibody for it by then?

Thank you so much for your insight!!

I don't think you have any HIV risk. You had a condom on. Her fluids couldn't enter your urethra because of the condom, so you couldn't get HIV.

An HSV test is maybe 50-60% accurate at 4 weeks. I would really caution you about taking too many hsv tests. There are fairly high rates of false positives, and unraveling that takes months, untold stress and a LOT of money (into the several hundred dollars, often not covered by insurance).

Your risk for hsv2 doesn't warrant going through all that. It really doesn't. I promise you if I thought it did, I'd tell you to test. It's up to you, of course.
