No. I wouldn't
You would not have tested negative this time if you were truly positive. False negatives are not a problem with this test. False low positives are. You're good to go
Many folks are hsv1 positive and don't know it. I doubt your hsv2 positive but can't say that for sure.
You could spend many years with a partner and never pass the virus.
Hsv1 is the infection that can give cold sores on the lip or nose area. It can be a genital infection. Usually acquired by oral sex. Most folks have hsv1. A lot of people do not know they have it as they (like most people with hsv1) got it as a small child and do not get cold sores. They probably had a few as a child then the antibodies the body makes keeps it at bay. Hsv1 oral infections are not considered an std. No need to worry. Avoid kissing or oral sex if a cold sore is coming on or present.
Your hsv2 low positive is very probable to be a false positive. This is common as hsv2 tests are very sensitive and will pick up on the other antibodies. The numbers aact like a confidence factor. The higher the number the more confident the test saw antibodies. For example. Your hsv1 test being in the twenties means it was very confident it saw exactly what it was looking for. On the flip side the hsv2 test saw something but has no real confidence as to what it saw. Anything less than a 3.5 is suspect and with someone like you who has hsv1 and been in a committed relationship, I highly doubt you have hsv2.
The hsv1 is. Hsv2 is in the realm of possible false positive. Especially when you have hsv1. There can be cross over. You need a confirmation test like the western blot test.
