Babies and oral herpes

Are babies at 7 months old more accessible to contracting HSV1 by kisses on the cheek from someone who gets cold sores?

No, the skin on their cheeks are thick enough so the virus shouldn't infect them that way. The person shouldn't kiss the baby at all if they have an active cold sore, though.

Also, it's cold and flu season. Feel free to limit the amount of people who touch and kiss your baby. Those are far more contagious than hsv1. Require people to get flu shots - it's your baby, do what you feel comfortable with.

Well, I'm assuming it's your baby. Are you the one with hsv1? Maybe you're the mom and have hsv1?
