COMPLEX ? about Herpes/donors/transplants

I have had herpes for about 4 years.  No OB's in a while ( even thought that doesn't mean anything)  I met an amazing man who is a donor for his father if his 3rd kidney were to fail!  Herpes and transplants???  We can't risk it?  other options? Besides no sex at all.. I know I couldn't live with myself knowing If I couldn't help my mom/dad in that way.

We are heart sick.  I need answers!  I am not sure where to begin.  I'm researching everywhere!  any feedback would be a blessing.

IS this a common thing?  I've personally never head of it being a problem donor.   But then again I am not educated on donors and transplants.  This is a first for me.

So my bottom line in a nut shell is this.....If he were to get herpes from me (which I have never passed and am very cautious about it) Can he still donate his kidney if his father needed it?

THANK YOU--Christy

Your partner can still donate a kidney if he contracts genital herpes from you.

if you take daily suppressive therapy and use condoms each time you have sex, your male partner's risk is 1% over the course of the entire year of contracting hsv2 from you. You should be more surprised if he does contract it if he doesn't if you are taking full precautions.
