Cold sore

Hello,

I have HSV-1 since I was 8 or 9 years old ( the first time I had a cold sore) and it is quite rare for me to have an outbreak. Two weeks ago I had an outbreak and yesterday I was touching my lip because I wanted to check the crust ( I think the herpes itself was pretty much gone) . After a few seconds I went to the bathroom and touched my penis...Is it possible for me to pass the herpes to my genital area?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, the sore was almost healed I guess...There's still a small crust on it though. There's really no risk?

No. With an established infection the body builds antibodies to prevent this. Plus like you said if it is healing up the virus has retreated.
Not to mention the virus dies off quickly when exposed like that. You are fine
