Is this Herpes?

So today i noticed an itching on the left side of my penis below the tip, passed it off as nothing, maybe i was masturbating too much or something.  Then i got home and noticed about 4 red bumps in that area(and ONLY that area), looked a bit like mild hives.  Now 3+ hours later it has started to itch much more and burn off and on,  generally just making me uncomfortable.  I'm wondering if this Herpes, it seems to fit some symptoms but I have NEVER in my life engaged in anything that could be regarded as sexual activity with anyone, nor have i used other peoples water recently or anything.   I do pick my cuticles on my fingers very badly, could something have entered through the sometimes small cuts there? Or could this be an allergic reaction to something on my boxers? Any help is very appreciated, this is really distracting.

There is a reason why the word SEX is in STD. If you do have an STD without having the S part, we are going to have to come up with a new slogan.

please just rest assured--you may have something going on, but if you haven't had sex it is NOT an std. not any of them. nada, no way, not a chance. quit worrying. lol

Thank you, that was something I had not thought of and sounds way more likely than anything like genital warts or MC (very relieving) since I haven't had any sexual activity.  I'm thinking it's contact Dermatitis.  Something I didn't mention is before i got this i had what possibly was an irritation sore(ie i need to get out more) in this same spot, it would have been very sensitive to something like vaseline or chemicals on my clothes, I'll have to check the labels.  This would explain why it is only on my penis and only in that spot.  I haven't used antibiotics for about 10-8 months. Hopefully this goes away soon, it doesn't seem to be as irritated as before.

If you have not had sex, it is impossible to be herpes. Dermatitis describes what you are feeling. Look at your soaps, detergents, lubes, new underwear. Also, if you have been on a large does of Antibiotics lately for something else, it MAY produce a yeast infection which kind of feels like a burning and redness followed by flakey skin. Let us know what happens...

Could this fit the description of molluscum contagiousum or genital warts?  It no longer bothers me unless it rubs against something in which case it burns; it is not spreading.

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking, I'll just let it be for a few days and see.

i'm wondering if it couldn't be like an allergic reaction to a soap or lotion or something like that? or, like you said something on your boxers like laundry detergent. if it's already getting better though i'm sure it's absolutely nothing to worry about! :)

Ahh alright good.  The burning seems to have gone mostly away, I'm thinking hives but I really know nothing so if anyone else has some ideas that would be great.

if you haven't had any sexual activity, there's no way you have herpes--yay for you! : )

unfortunately i have no idea what you could have. if it bothers you you should definitely have your doc look at it. but rest assure that it's definitely not herpes!
