Conclusive HSV2 Results?

Hello Everyone,

I was tested with HerpeSelect for HSV-2 specifically at about 8 months. I've read that there are certain strains that don't produce igg antibodies and got a bit scared. Could I consider myself conclusively negative?

no false negatives that far out.  The only false neg, I believe would be if someone was tested a couple of days after exposure.  You can always get a repeat test to make sure, if nothing else, it will ease your mind.

I mean, if I think I have pain, I have pain. I just thought these blood tests are reliable? Are there chances for false negatives so far out from the window period? 12-16 weeks? I was tested at over 30 weeks. What are the chances that I'm in the minority and cannot develop antibodies to the virus?

I would say in my opinion that you are negative.  If you had a lesion on your testicle, you would know it was herpes.  You would have a lot of nerve pain.  Since you stated, "seem" to have pain.  I would say your being too paranoid, rightly so, it is a scarey thing.  But if your test was neg....    I'd say your fine

i also saw my derma and my primary, both dont think i have herpes. I seem to have pain, though, in my genital/thigh area and a raw skin spot on my left testicle. Just wondering if I should move past this.
