Could I test positive for hvs 1 oral col d sores or could it be inflammation

So I haven't had any sign or anything I went to the doctor for a normal exam '24yr old female here'and the doctor asked about some red bumps down there I get them all the time from shaving and I sweat a lot at my job.. So she wanted to make sure that was it so after some talk and what not I agreed so that was Monday they called wed the 28th two days later after I gave them blood and urine to test. She when the nurse called everything was was negative except hvs1 oral cold sores in which I have never had. But I was told to come back in cause I guess my urine got spilled. So when I went today Thu 28th to give another urine sample i want to talk to the nurse cause I am confused I have only had 2 sex partner both with sare sex. I have only given oral and gotten oral maybe 2 if not 3 times in which both sex partner had no signs I asked if there was anyway the test Could be wrong cause the doctor had said something about inflammation which I guess can cause bumps and irritation down there. The nurse said there was no way the test was wrong I had proctive sex less then 2 weeks ago but did receive oral.. And as far as my other sex partner I was tested for everything after we broke up and I retested a year later still with nothing.. So can inflammation give a false positive hvs1 oral? Please help I don't know what to do and my partner now swears he doesn't have anything but I know people can have it and not know about it.

No, inflammation won't cause a false positive, but do you have the actual test results?

Most people with hsv1 never get a cold sore - something like 90% of them don't. It's not surprising that you wouldn't either. It's quite possible it's something you got as a child from someone kissing you, or sharing a toy that you put in your mouth, or even sharing a drink. I wouldn't look at this as an STD, or even assume it's a genital infection unless you have an outbreak genitally.

Your partner should test, though. It's quite possible he already has it, too.
