Can you get HSV-1 through mutual masturbation?

I was HSV-1 NEGATIVE before I got married and since then have not engaged in any act of vaginal, oral, or anal intercourse with anyone other than my spouse.  I have engaged in a few acts of mutual masturbation with others.  No kissing.  Is it possible I got HSV-1 from my spouse (who was a virgin when we got married) or from the mutual masturbation or from another cause altogether?

Most cases of HSV one our long-standing infections. People tend to come in contact with it when they’re very young, sometimes from kisses from a family member that has cold sores. Most people with HSV, whether it’s one or two, have no symptoms so they have no idea that they have the virus. It’s very possible that your husband Has HSV one even though he’s a virgin. If you or your husband has ever kissed anyone else, the infection could’ve spread. Or, like I said, it was something that was acquired in his or yours youth. Know if were talking about HSV one genitally, this would be spread by someone who has it orally performing oral sex on someone not infected.  It’s also important to note that most STD testing does not include HSV unless it specifically requested. People will get testing done yearly at their doctor and assume they were tested for it, that’s not the case. Also, HSV1  testing via the IgG can miss a ton of infections. Up to 30% of them. The testing For it, for blood testing, just isn’t that great.
