I think I have Genital Herpes

About 3 months ago I met an amazing woman. We started off having protected sex but that changed real quick. Fast Forward to now. I noticed some ulcers and black heads on my penis and my lymph nodes in my groin area are tender. Where I shave my pubic hairs I noticed a lot of  scars as well. I went to the doctor and just by looking he says oh no that's herpes. I kind of figured that by looking at pictures online. So my question is, should I trust his medical eye or should I go get a blood test done in a couple weeks. Thanks

Never trust an eye for a diagnosis. Even top experts are wrong more often tben you'd think. Your Dr did you no favors. Should've swabbed the area and tested for hsv. Tbe swab cultures look for the virus. Blood tests look for antibodies and it can take weeks to build them up. I would get a bloodtest right away. Use that as a baseline test if it cimes bqck negative. Then test in a month or two. If your dr put you on antivirals that can prolong a posible positive test.

What has your partner had to say? Has she evee tested and is she willing to go and test with you?
Well she says that she was tested about a month ago and everything turned out  negative including hsv 1 &2 but she's willing to go get tested again
That's good. That should help a bit.
