HERPES or just weather changes

Dear Doc,
I have been anxious over this matter for quite a while. early november last year, I had unprotected sex (once) with a friend. A month later, i got some lip blisters which when i searched on the internet, the indications seemed to point to herpes but when I went to do a test, it turned out negative for all STDs. However, in April, I got another lip blister and some irritations on the skin especially on my back, which i kept scratching but it didnt show any visible change like a rush. I also got an irritation on my penis which when i scratched, it developed a small, patch that didnt seem to heal. Up to now, It dries up and renews again and gives me an unpleasant irritation in the evenings before I sleep and in the morning when I wake up.  I have also been having a paining back, (cant sustain standing for over 20 minutes without sitting). My GP told me to take some pain killers and do back stretching exercises as well as be careful with my sitting positions because I spend over 14 hours sitting on ma desk working. But I do enough exercises like riding a bike everyday, walking and playing football once a week. My skin and lips are so dry.  I am thinking that I could have attracted herpes, though I havent done another test yet. I dont know If I contracted it from my friend. I am so scared!! Advice please.

Thanks a lot Grace. I know it wasnt a doctor's forum but rather an open forum where probably some people can give me some advice!

Thank for yo advice, the GP told me to moisturize my skin. I guess I will have to take another test soon to be sure!

This is not the doctor's forum. you have to pay to post there.

At this point, repeat your herpes igg test for peace of mind and go from there. sounds like you tested a bit early for herpes.

It sounds like something non-herpes going on - make sure you are using a good lip product regularly and moisturizing your skin in general.  drink plenty of fluids too !
