Different herpes results

I need some advice on my results

In 2012 tested positive for hsv 2 (score 1.1)
In 2014 tested negative for herpes
In 2015 tested positive for hsv1 (oral) negative for hsv2 (don't know the score)
Tested a few weeks ago 2016 and was negative for hsv1 but positive for hsv2 again (score 5. Something)

The high score has me believing that I do have herpes but not sure which one. Of course the doc was no help. He couldn't explain how I have something for one year and the later I don't.

Any insights will help. I never had any symptoms maybe a cold sore once in my life. Otherwise nothing.

Your first hsv2 score was very low and could be a false positive. Common in low scores. The 5 for hsv2 is usually conclusive but in your case I would seek out a western blot test from the University of Washington. They will send you the kit. Have your Dr draw the blood and send it back. This is the gold standard for hsv testing.
