Do I have Herpes? Please help

The other night I made a poor decision and had unprotected sex with a girl at a party. A week after the incident I noticed fairly pronounced red bumps on the head of my penis and a few on the shaft. I immediately cleaned myself with soap and water, and within 10 hours of noticing the bumps, most had gone away whike the few remaining ones were much reduced in size.that was 5 days ago and at this point I have perhaps 10 of these very small bumps, which have gone through cycles of becoming more prominent and almost disappearing completely. About half are reddish with the others being flesh coloured. 1 or 2 look to be slightly white towards the top but it's difficult to tell because of their size. I haven't experienced any pain or flu like symptoms. From what I've read I fear that I have herpes, and any help or insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for your help! I've just been to the clinic and the doctor believes it to be a mild yeast infection and has prescribed cortisone cream.

This doesn't sound like herpes. First, it sounds like the bumps did not turn into blisters or open sores. Second, a herpes outbreak cannot clear up so rapidly; herpes lesions generally last 1-2 weeks. Third, herpes lesions cannot change appearance and prominence over the course of a few hours or a couple of days.

So for sure this isn't herpes, and I'm sure it's no other STD either. It's probably unrelated to your recent sexual exposure. But for an accurate diagnosis, you're going to need to see a doctor or clinic. It will be interesting to hear what they say after you have been examined.
