Okay this might be a little lengthy and I apologize ahead of time.
I have been with the same person for three years now completely monogamous. I have had 7 other life time partners before my partner now.
I went into the doctors after finding a sore down on my labia, the next day after finding a sore there were a few more sores, almost looking like canker sores. So this would have been my "first initial outbreak".
I went into the doctors. The girl took one look and said, "oh hun, this is hopers, but lets do testing just in case and to see if it is anything else."
I had a culture test done, (again during the "first initial outbreak EVER"), I had an antibody test done, and a swab test.
Three days later I got a call back that said ALL tests were negative including , BV, herpes, HIV, Chlyamida etc. ALL STD tests that I had taken were negative. But after getting the call saying that "all tests were negative" the doctor still recommended that I take the prescription that she prescribed to me and to still treat it as Herpes.
I want to again remind you that I have been with the same person for three years now. So with this, If these results were a false negative, wouldn't I still have enough antibodies shown in my blood no matter what?
This is the first time I have ever had anything like that happening down there (labia), I was also sick while this was happening I had a stomach flu, and upper respiratory infection, and strep throat.
A few previous days earlier, I had intercourse with my significant other, and I have been feeling like I can not produce enough of my own "lube", making it dry and almost painful during the beginning until things get going….
Please help, should I trust these results?
Has this happened to anyone else?
I had such a horrible experience with this visit. The doctor was very quick with the visual to say "yup its herpes." The nurse while bringing me into the room was like, "oh well it sounds like herpes to me, lets get you a room with stirrups so your doctor can exam you." After getting all of these tests done, balling my eyes out, the doctor doesn't even come back in to see me, she printed off some herpes paperwork, asking me to read it over, give me a prescription, that she never told me about, and than when the same nurse comes back in to discharge me she says, " well all things we do in the past can come back and haunt us, wish we could do some things differently huh?"
I don't even know where to start with that visit, I understand that herpes is a virus that is VERY common, I understand that these things "happen." but, I don't care how common this virus is. This is something completely new to me.
