Is this herpes?

I’ve had noticed this spot for about 2 weeks ago and was concerned it could be herpes. It hasn’t changed at all from what it was then, and I could have had it before then but I’m not entirely sure. I’ve been STD tested for everything (except herpes) and it’s all negative. I had a doctor look at it and she said it was just a swollen gland. The only reason I’m concerned is because I’ve had terrible pain all down the groin, butt and hip area that is on the same side as the spot that comes and goes. Mostly is associated with pressure put around the area. My doctor thinks I’ve strained my pelvic floor some how but I’m just not sure since I didn’t get a blood herpes test.

Do you have sores? Blisters?

How long has the pain been coming and going? Why didn't your doctor do the herpes blood test? You can get a type specific IgG blood test for herpes, but it can take up to 4 months to show positive.

It doesn't sound like herpes, and straining your pelvic floor sounds plausible, but since you're obviously worried, ask for the blood test to put your mind at ease.

I don't know what your possible exposures are, so I can't tell you what your chances of herpes are, but if you've had any unprotected sex or received oral sex, it's possible.
