Eye herpes transmission possible?

I nanny for a four year old and it looks as if she has either super chapped lips or a cold sore. Out of nowhere, I saw her touching her lips with both hands and she accidentally poked me in the eye seconds after. Is there a high likelihood that I could get herpes in the eye from this interaction?

So, you aren't really sure the child has herpes simplex 1.  One touch to the eye causing you to get herpetic eye?  Probably not.  It is not very likely. There is a possibility but you'd know relatively quickly.  I personally wouldn't worry about it.  And it's too late now.  Have you ever had your cornea poked or scratched?  It hurts like a mother.  You likely closed your eye as an impulse and the brief touch would be unlikely to cause any eye issues for you.
