FREAKED OUT ABOUT HSV 2 INFECTION. PLEASE RESPOND!

Hi Grace (and anybody else who will respond to my questions):

This is my situation:
Two days ago I felt pain on the crease of my labia minora.  Of course, I was with someone unprotected for about two months and he claimed to be STD free.  When I checked where the pain was originating from I found a big red bump that was very tender and painful to touch.  Immediately I freaked out and came to the diagnosis of HSV2 GENITAL HERPES.  However, this pimple/sore had a whitehead in it and I tried to pop it but it would not come out.  On Monday I went to my general doctor to have a professional opinion and he said that my lesion did not resemble a herpes sore.  I am HSV1 positive and I see no resemblance to the herpes sores I get on my lips.  Now the pimple/sore went down in size and it still has a little bit of white puss left inside but again, it's hard and not soft and filled of clear fluid and it does not itch and it has not spread anywhere else on my vulva.  My question is:  IS THIS AN INITIAL HERPES OUTBREAK IF I'M INDEED POSITIVE?  My doctor said that he could not culture it because there was nothing he could scrape from so he ordered a HERPESselect test with results by the end of the week but the anxiety is killing me.  Can anybody answer? It is possible that it could just be a pimple or a blocked gland or pore?  THANKS! I JUST NEED SOME TYPE OF ADVICE BECAUSE I'M GOING NUTS!!!

the odds of it being herpes with a negative igg blood test 3+ months out is too low to continue worrying about :)

Hi grace,
thanks for your time and effort. This, I promise, will be my last question to you. I actually got blood work done for HSV 2 (herpeselect) and it came back negative after 3 and a half month exposure. The lesion was not cultured because doc said he couldnt really swab anything since by the second day my pimple had almost gone down in size and it only had a little whitehead. With this said and with my negative herpes select results, csn i just move on? Or is there a chance the test might have been a false negative? Thanks!!!!!!

The big std conference is this week so there is going to be a delay in getting responses I"m sure from all 3 experts here on medhelp since I think they are all there.  I had other plans or I'd be there too.

Be patient and just keep all your questions in one post, don't keep making a new one each time - thanks!

I honestly nor can anyone here fight the views of your doctor.  Plus I can't fight the expertise of any Dr. nor would I dare ever question Dr. HHH or Dr. Hook or even Nurse Warren or Grace for that matter.  The first 3 are trained in this and Grace has it and is also got a medical background.  Few people I would question and those are not it.  Give Dr. HHH time to respond.  He is a doctor and pretty darn good at getting back to follow ups.

Hi Thanks for the reply.  Well Dr. HHH said that I could follow up with additonal comments/questions but he never replied so I'm seeking additional advice.  Do you think this may be herpes?  That is my only question.
