cold sore -- please reply

I gave my boyfriend what i should say was 10 second oral sex, while i had a scabbed cold sore, what are the possibilities of me transmitting hsv-1 to his genital.he has never gotten a cold sore before.but his parents have.
when should he get tested?
how long until symptoms appear?
and is it true that men are less likely to get this virus transmitted ?

If youve tested negative for herpes several times, newly acquiring hsv1 oral from kissing and such is more a risk for young children whose immune systems are not yet strong but for adults is low risk. If you havent tested in a while maybe have one to confirm your still negative.

Hi and welcome. First you need to have a test to see if infact you have herpes. A lip herpes sore needs to be completely healed to avoid any risk. Symptoms dont often appear but when they do, its about 3 to 13 days or so. As a rule, men are less likely to contact it vrs women and circumcised men are less likely than non.
