Can this happen?

Last Wednesday I was working outside with my coworker and i offered him some water bc it was so hot out. An hour later i remembered him saying previously (idk when he said it) a week or so earlier that he felt a cold sore coming . I dont remember when exactly he said it.

Whenever i noticed him drinking on from the bottle he didnt put his lips around where the watercame out. It was more like he rested his bottom lip on the bottle and poured it in his mouth from there.

I looked at his lips and i didnt see anything that looked like a cold sore. I tried to wipe it off the bottle at our break before i drank from it and when i did i made no contact with the bottle at all. I tilted my head back and poured . It was so hot out

Sunday night i felt something on or near my lip. It feels like a zit would feel coming in under the skin. My grandfather is a dentist and said it was too early to tell what it is but it could go either way. Ive never had a cold sore before so idk what to expect. I read that cold sores feel tingly and slightly painful when coming in but this doesnt hurt at all

Opinions?

If he had no symptoms of a cold sore, it's unlikely that it would transmit anything, and your lips didn't touch the bottle.

I really wouldn't worry about this at all.

I may have drank from it before i remembered him mentioning a cold sore
But you don't know that.

Either way, he didn't have a sore at the time. That makes the chances of it transmitting this way - already an inefficient way of transmission - very low.

Once herpes is exposed to air, it dies rapidly.

Do you know if you already have hsv1? About half the adult population has it, and 90% won't ever get any symptoms. If you already have it, you can't get it again. If you want to know, you can ask your doctor for a type specific IgG blood test.

Is this anxiety or germ-phobia normal for you? If it is, you should talk to your doctor about it. There is help available.
I do get anxious easily and no I don't have hsv1
I do have a little something on my lip rn. it doesn't hurt and i can only feel it if i run my finer over it
Have you ever seen a cold sore? It's blisters, usually a cluster of them. They hurt. It's not something you can only feel if you run your finger over it, and you can see it by looking in the mirror.

Stop touching your lips - this is an easy way to get colds, flus and other viruses - and my guess is that nothing will happen.
It's one spot on my lower right lip. It doesnt hurt. Its not a cluster. It feels like some fluid under the skin. I can only really see it if when i smile and my lip is pulled
If its not a cold sore idk what it is
Then go to the doctor and get it checked. The only way to confirm it is to get it cultured and tested.

A cold sore is visible all the time, not just when the skin is pulled, but get it checked out to put your mind at ease. It's the only way you're going to put this past you.
