HERPES OR CHANCROID

have been dealing with vaginal sores for almost 5 years
i started getting them when i was 15 after a sexual encounter with really bad yeast infections since i was so young my mom didn't even want to grasp the fact that i was having sex so it went untreated for a while plus the childrens obgyn in my area was only open on fridays so it was very hard to get an appointment by the time i finally saw a doctor the sores had went away but everytime i went i tested positive for yeast and or bv and when i told them about the sores they immediately said herpes so they'd order blood tests and each time i came back negative for all common STDS mind you this has been going about every 2 months for on for 5 years!

i am not sure what type of blood test it was but I'm pretty sure it was an IgM and if I'm not mistaken i know they are known for false positives not negatives

i just turned 18 and decided to see an adult obgyn for this issue and abnormal periods when i first went she tested me for everything just because i was a new patient and the std test came back negative (IgM i believe ) but she did say when i have the sores come back ASAP and within a week i was back with a sore and strong odor and discharge she took a swab and sent it to the lab

she said she thinks it herpes and i will get the lab results this week but i strongly disagree because of my symptoms

sporadic outbreaks (both)
strong vaginal discharge (both)
i only get one single sore (chancroid) rather than a cluster (herpes)
they start as sores  (chancroid) not blisters that open and then crust over (herpes)
i usually get kissing ulcers on the opposite side of my vagina (chancroid)

all these are spot on symptoms for CHANCROID not herpes even though they are very similar
to my knowledge you cannot blood test for chancroid which would make sense why i continue to have negative blood test for 5 years and active symptoms also i know it is predominantly found  in africa and thats where my boyfriend is from

so with alll that being said i guess my question is

1 is is possible to have active symptoms for 5 years with no antibodies for that disease at all

2 would you say this could be chancroid

or if you have any other questions or comments i just need help

An IGM is not the test you want at all. It’s outdayed, inaccurate and even the CDC recommends against using it to find HSV antibodies.
The test you want is a type-specific IgG. This will give a clearer picture. While this test is very accurate for HSV2, the common cause of genital herpes, it is less effective for HSV1, which is usually the cause of oral infections but can be passed genitally through oral sex.
While a chancroid is possible I suppose, I think you would have many issues with them because they need to be treated with the proper medications (antibiotics).
The strong order in your discharge is bacterial but the sores need to be properly diagnosed. You definitely need antibiotics to start. If you have ever been treated for this issue with antibiotics before and it returns, that would make me think it’s viral in nature.
Hsv can present itself in numerous ways. A single sore, a cluster, incessant vaginal infections. See what your swab says. If negative be sure to try antibiotics but even if negative, request an IgG test.

even though the test is outdayed do you think it would still be able to pick up on 5 years worth on antibodies or is it completely unreliable and they said chancroid can come in sporadic outbreaks as well thats why I'm so confused but thanks so much ill request an IgG
The IGM is useful only when detected antibodies from a early infection. Like within the first few weeks of infection. After that, while my understanding is an IGM can prove positive at various times through infection, IgG antibodies are what the body will produce and will remain for the rest of our life. The thing about a chanceoid, and I admit I don’t know a lot about that, but if left untreated, could produce far more problems then sporadic sores. It’s an infection that, without treatment, can cause serious health issues. The repetitive nature of these sores sounds like HSV2, especially since you haven’t taken any antivirals (which is discouraged until you have a blood test or swab test as antivirals can skew results).
No matter what, you are not only doing the best thing by addressing this but it’s the smart thing. At least now, no matter, you can get the proper treatment. But no more IGM tests!!! Tell your doctor to read up on testing recommendations through the CDC or the ASHA website. She sounds pretty ill-informed.
i just looked at my labs from last year it says

"Lab result: HSV 1 and 2 -specific Ab, IgG RPR"

is that an igG blood test?  sorry to keep responding to you you're the only person helping me right now
The IgG is a blood test. What does it say the results are?
RPR is in a strange place in this note because that’s a syphillis test.
it says results hepatitis b surface antigen and then it says value negative also i got my culture back it was negative as well but the nurse said it depends on how good of a swab it was so i have a feeling I'm going to have to do this again unfortunately
I think you should request a type specific hsv IgG. The test you had done above doesn’t really describe what you had done. For HSV2, the IgG is about 95% accurate, so it’s very good!
