HSV 1, genitally: long term complications?

What, if any, are long-term issues that may be caused by /.related to HSV if I have it genitally? Will it affect other organs or systems in the body? Can it cause or make one more susceptible to other disease? I read somewhere that it can cause cervical cancer. I'd like to know if there are any things I should be on the lookout for in later years, or preventative measures I can take. Thanks!

That HSV causes cervical cancer was only a supposition and I think it has been disproved at this point.

There is no need to be especially worried about HSV in our bodies and what it might do. It is only one of countless things about our bodies that may cause issues in the future. It really is best to just take good care of your self with healthy eating and some exercise and enjoy life.

Believe me, you'll have plenty of time to worry about medical issues when you're old, it probably won't be what you can imagine today and most probably won't be HSV.
