HSV-1 in a new location

I can't find any specific information about my situation and my doctor was NO help at all. I've had HSV-1 orally for most of my life. Recently I acquired HSV-1 genitally. I know pretty much all of the information out there--I've been obsessively researching for a month. What I don't know is this:
* Does this new location shed as if it is a new viral infection (generally people she's the virus more in the first year they have it)? Or, since I've always had it, does it behave as though I've had it for almost 30 years?
* Is there ANY possibility that my culture taken from my genital lesion had HSV-1 in it because I already have it? I'm wondering if it's possible I also have HSV-2. My doctor didn't seem to be concerned that this was a possibility. However, I've read it's rare to have it in two locations, so I'm concerned my genital HSV-1 is secretly HSV-2.
* I'm on anti-viral suppression (500 my Valtrex daily)--should I be one 1g instead? I don't want to transmit this!
* I've always had HSV-1 orally, and thus refrained from giving oral sex without disclosure. However, I now feel like a leper and I'm terrified to kiss anyone. WHY? That hasn't changed! Is this normal?
* Is it likely I'll be able to procreate one day without transmitting this to my potential future partner/husband? This is something I'm very concerned about.
* Is there anyone that personally knows a woman that has transmitted GHSV-1 genitally to a man? I'm very curious about an actual account of this--I can't find any!

Either way like i said in your other post hsv1 is rarely transmitted from genital to genital intercourse.

The fact you already have hsv1 antibodies should hold the infection in check very well. Many people never have another outbreak past the primary. That being said everyones differant. If you end up getting frequent outbreaks then consider daily antiviral meds.

I want to be able to assure any potential partner that I'm taking all possible precautions so I started taking 500mg Valtrex daily immediately. I already take allergy medication and ADHD meds every morning... so I figured this could replace me taking BC... considering I'll most certainly always being using a condom now and I'll be lucky to get pregnant as-is, I don't want to take the hormones anymore and mess with my chances...

What's another pill?

Hsv1 genitaly sheds very little and has few outbreaks. You may never get another one. Spreading hsv1 through intercourse is very rare.
Your culture test is accurate and you have hsv1 orally and genitaly. Don't panic about your genital hsv1. You are FAR less likely to ever spread it from your genitals. Far more likely to spread it kissing or giving oral sex

This doesn't answer my question about my "new" infection of HSV-1. When first infected, a person sheds more frequently and has more OBs. Yes, I already had HSV-1, but since it was oral it was hanging out in that ganglia thing up top. Now, my understanding, is that I also have some "new" HSV-1 hanging out in the "boxers" area ganglia... so is it behaving as a new infection???
