HSV 2 Transmission

Hi there, I have had HSV 1 for a couple years now. My friend has HSV 2 and we smoke together from time to time. I believe it is on her genitals but I’m not sure it could be oral too. I was wondering how likely it is that I could get HSV 2 by sharing cigarettes with her? I know that HSV 1 is likely to be spread orally but I can’t find answers on this situation when the person has HSV 2. Thank you!

Oral hsv2 is very rare. When it does happen, it very rarely causes outbreaks, and it very rarely sheds, meaning it almost never transmits. On the very unlikely chance that she has it orally, you won't get it from her by sharing cigarettes. I do have to say that it's cold and flu - and covid - season, and doing this is an excellent way to transmit those, though.
