HSV IGG Test, Next Step

6 months ago i was tested for just a random screening for all STD's with no symptoms for anything, just thought I should get it done.  I had the HSV IGG type 2 specific test result come back 1.22,.  Doctor thought that it was unlikely I had it.  Went back 6 months later and tested again and had a 1.09.  Now they are recommended to come back another 3 months from now and take the test for the third time.  I've read a lot on here about the Western Blot test, how do I go about getting that and is it worth it at this point or go with the doctors and get the test done a third time.  Also my first test was after 4 months from my last sexual encounter, i know that kind of factors into these tests somehow.

I finally did confirmatory testing after delaying for a long time and it came back negative for hsv-2.  I was very relieved, but now i'm concerned about the immunoblot test that said I was also positive for HSV-1.  How should I read into this past test?

at this point, wait until 4 months post encounter and seek out the WB.

Yeah, those were my numbers from the IGG tests.  The Immunoblot came back positive, but my doctor says it just tests the same thing as IGG so it doesn't really say anything new to my 1.09 IGG test.

I went back to my doctor and asked for the western blot test and he took blood and did an immunoblot test.  He said the test results came back the same as the IGG test.  However, he did tell me something that the 1.22 was not type specific and the 1.09 is the only type specific IGG test I have had.  I asked him about Western Blot and he said he would look into it.  I was wondering if there is anything else I needed to do?  Is it worth doing the Western Blot now anyway?  My doctor says that the tests show that I have a chance of being remotely contagious and have it, but he cannot give me 100% that i do not have it.  Please help.

I understand that.  I have read some about how this test creates anxiety, and somehow that is true with me.  I was just wondering how to get the western blot?

your 2nd test was actually negative.  I wouldn't bother with more testing. you had a low positive first result and a negative 2nd.  no reason to think you have hsv2.
