HSV can be transmitted even without symptoms - a phenomenon called "asymptomatic shedding."
Both Type 1 and Type 2 can be in either location. If you have HSV-1 anywhere on your body, yes, you can still contract HSV-2. The reverse isn't true, however. The antibodies for HSV-2 will protect you from contracting HSV-1, but not the reverse.
Thank you I feel more at ease, she had no breakouts plus I know she has hsv2 genital herpes idk if she has oral , I have another question if you have hvs1 on your oral can you get hvs2 also ?
HSV is transmitted via skin-to-skin contact. According to our best researchers, there are no cases in which HSV is transmitted via bodily fluids. I would say that you shouldn't worry until there's a reason to worry. But you could ask your doctor for an IgG type-specific test for HSV now, and if it's negative get tested again in 4 months, just to be sure.
