What does a herpes test IgG level 17 mean?

I had a doctor swab some sores on my outer/lower labia; she tested for herpes with PCR testing. It was the 2nd day that I had noticed something sore there. That test came back negative for herpes, but she still thought I had it. I requested a confirming blood test. That level came back IgG of 17 IV. I thought I read that that is too high of a level to consider the test valid. What does it mean? I've asked to be retested because it didn't distinguish between HSV 1 or HSV 2. Of course I'm very anxious to know if I can trust the test result. Thank you!

I should add that I've never had any other HSV symptoms (lesions, fever, chills, etc)  until now, and these sores were mild, I doubt they blistered. I've also heard that some HSV2 cases are very mild or unnoticeable.
