Herpes blood test.

Hi, I Am a male and received a unprotected oral sex  1 year back. I took a blood test For hsv 1 and 2 after 60 days of exposure. The tests were negative.  Is the blood test for men reliable for hsv.

Yes, they are, for men and women, if you had an IgG test, not an IgM test. The IgG test does miss about 30% of hsv1 infections, but if you've had no symptoms, you don't need to worry - the negative test and no genital symptoms together means you don't need to worry.

Receiving oral sex would only put you at risk for hsv1, not hsv2.

Thanks a lot for your reply.  Both IgG and  IgM tests were negative . I took the test after 60 days. Also my syphilis test is also negative  in 60 days.
The syphilis test is conclusive at 6 weeks, so you're fine there, too.

You can move on from this, really. You're fine.
Thank you for the reply. So nice of you
