I did post last night. Is there a way for you to find it or do I repost a new question?
Hi, it would be best to post your own question as need more information to advise you. So just post a question as need to know how he was tested and is ity hsv1 or 2 and the location.

I am curious to your answers as well. My husband just recently found out he has it sue to an outbreak. He is scared to pass it to me as his OB is on the side and the Dr stated a condom wouldn't protect me. I am curious to know if I am almost certain to get it or if I could go years without getting it.
Ok...what about my questions? Curious about risk decreasing over time with my wife's asymptomatic HSV-2
Im taking about risk catatories and long term relationships. With single affair kissing its boils down to shedding. People do not kiss with active herpes lip sores as the pain is to much. Shedding and exposure is the issue.
You mentioned the risk of HSV2 from single affair. What about the risk of HSV1 from a single affair when lots of kissing? whats the risk of that
Thanks Life. I have seen you make that statement over and over again. Those most at risk are in long term monogamous relationships where one partner is infected. Does the risk decrease with time when the infected person is asymptomatic? I've read so many things...one website said that the greatest risk in a new relationship occurs during the first three months. That would imply that with time, there is less of a chance of the other person being infected.
My wife was infected over 15 years ago. She is asymptomatic and only knows that she is HSV-2 positive because I asked that she get a complete STI panel done while we were dating. She had no idea she was positive.
We have been having unprotected sex for the last 7 years that we have been married and I am still negative. I'm just curious if my odds are getting better or if I've just been lucky enough to not have had sex while she was shedding.
Is it possible that asymptomatic shedding decreases over time so that it rarely occurs?
Fingering is not a risk and its the same as hsv2. Risk factors are established by mulitple exposure to a positive person.
