Herpes on tongue? Rare?

I have been tested back in May 2009 for HSV2 and HSV1 and my test results were negative, just as a regular check up for STDs. I am very rarely sexually active but last month I did perform oral sex on a male. We have discussed if either had anything, which we both said no. Though, 17 days later, I happened to look at my tongue and noticed there were three red circles/sores on the tip of my tongue...but one was more to the side of the tongue but still on the edge. They turned red and circular but went away in 4 days.

Just yesterday, I noticed a red circular formation starting to appear again on the tip of my tongue and today, it has a very tiny white puss looking bump on the edge of the center of the red circle. I'm starting to freak out it might be herpes, though I do not show any other lesions anywhere and the location seems unlikely compared to other spots herpes could form in the mouth. I am also diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis for about two years now, which I have read online that this can cause ulcers to appear inside of the mouth, but have not noticed this before.  I have an appointment to see a doctor on Tuesday but just wanted some advice to help ease my mind a bit on figuring out what it could be.

Did u ever figure out what it was? I have similar thing going on inside mouth. I had whitefish bump looking thing on one side of tongue and now on the right side wall of mouth where a chipped crown is at. Mouth feels  poisoned/sticky.  Either way I have a lot going on in there. Makes me think it is herpes for me. I tested 9 days after exposure which was way to soon I think and it came back as positive for hsv1. Doctor told me it's not oral related. Your case is hediterary or something like that. I will be going back to get tested because I really do think it might be oral herpes. Because what other std/bacteria spread like that all over mouth? Driving me nuts as well. It's crazy how if sumptoms are already showing why can't we get a dammm test done. Why do we have to wait so long.

Well, it is back again. Now, there are about 3 or 4 at the tip which kind of burns. Not sure, but my lips might have something developing on it....worries me like crazy. I did go to the doc today, but he was only able to see the sore at the tip of the tongue and he wasn't sure if it was herpes or not. How long does it take for it to form on the lip to show that something is there?

Hmmm, just wondering....does anyone have herpes in their mouth that can describe what they experience?

I went to the doctor yesterday, though by time I was able to get seen I didn't have any of the sores on the tip of my tongue lol. But, from what I described to the doctor, he said that if it was an infection or herpes, it would have been hurting and hurt when I swallow. I just worried about it because it was there last month in the same spot. I was hearing about "lie bumps" from everyone, but I have never had those before until last month I guess lol. I could not get the blood tests done since they were too expensive.

this doesn't sound like herpes going on. following up with your provider is the best you can do at this point.

I'm going today. I just think its weird that whatever it is would show up at the tip of the tongue and now have a red spot thing near the uvula. Didn't know if anyone who has it in their mouth might be able to enlighten me what it looks like or feels like.

And, from what I have read online and from what doctors have told me in the past, it is unlikely to pass herpes through oral since it is low risk for that, but still possible. I'm just freaking out now that this red spot has appeared; driving me crazy! This symptom didn't happen last month when the tongue sores first showed up so I dunno why it would show up now if it IS that. I would figure I would be in pain but don't really feel anything...bleh. Hate not knowing! =(

It looks like it is going away now. But, today I just noticed a red spot forming towards the back of my throat near the that thing that hangs down but towards the side. None of it hurts though but it happened to form now when this thing on my tongue was around. I also have a canker sore on my gum at the front upper of my mouth, which that one of course hurts. I'm just freaking out now that this red spot formed, though the tongue looks better. =(

sounds more like something non-herpes going on. follow up on it with your provider monday.
