Herpes or something else?

About 5-6 months ago I developed small white/ skin colored bumps on one vaginal lip. There has been 2-3 times where one of the bumps with get a littler bigger and become irritated and itchy, but will eventually subside. The rest of the bumps have been there and they are very small, sometimes I have to use a light to see them clearly. They don’t usually itch or hurt unless I have a lot of friction down there, like wearing the wrong underwear or becoming sweaty. I’ve searched almost everything on the web and I can’t seem to figure it out. My first thought was herpes, but most websites say that herpes are painful sores and outbreaks tend to only last 3-4 weeks. I’ve been to my doctor and after showing her the bumps, she claimed that they didn’t look like herpes and thinks they maybe just be razor bumps or some type of skin tag. I took a blood and urine sample and was tested for all of the common STIs and every test came back negative except Herpes type 1. She says this just means that I’ve had cold sores in the past. I was negative for herpes type 2. I’ve read that it may take awhile for the antibodies to show up on the blood test for HSV 2, and I assume that 5 months is long enough for them to appear. Is this for sure not genital herpes? What else could cause these bumps that won’t go away?

This isn't herpes. Herpes sores are blisters. They may be sebaceous glands, or Fordyce spots (these are the same things with different names).

If you think it's irritating when you eat certain foods, start tracking that. Perhaps you are sensitive to sugars or something.

Do yeast infections usually cause bumps or small sores? They will become very itchy on and off. Sometimes they hard to see but I can feel them for sure when I touch the area. I feel like the irritation sometimes correlates when I eat junk food.

Hi and the symptoms yoru mentioning are not that of herpes as they would be painful sores and 3 months is the widow period for herpes to appear on a blood test. I agree with the doc that its a yeast infection.

I forgot to add that the doctor told me I had a yeast infection, but that’s it. I didn’t realize this nor did I have any symptoms. I’ve took the medication. No changes in the bumps
