Herpes testing window while on acyclovir.

I've on acyclovir for shingles prevention and had a one night stand 14 weeks ago. I had a blood test at the 7 week mark and it was negative. When should I have my next blood test to be sure I'm negative.

Acyclovir can delay antibody production a bit. I'd test again at 4 months. I'm assuming you are taking that because your immune system is compromised for some reason? Does your treating physician know you may have a risk for herpes?

There is some discussion on acyclovir or valtrex being used to prevent herpes infections. No one is really sure about the dose needed, but it may help.

What was your risk? Was it protected? Have you had symptoms?
