I went to see my doctor after my labs came up positive for hsv2 at 1.1igg, I have been positive for hsv1 since I was a kid. I asked about false positive, low positive, and confirming this with a Western Blot. She said the number doesn't meant anything. If its above the positive mark, it will stay positive, and the number may always stay the same or change but doesn't mean anything (this made me suspect herpes may not be her specialty because my research on here tells me differently) Anyhow, when I asked about the Western Blot she said that Herpeselect confirms positive results with a Western Blot. So its already been done (behind the scenes in the lab), and I do in fact have genital herpes. Has anyone heard of this? Why are there so many threads and countless comments on people getting positive results with igg tests and then doing a Western Blot and getting different results. Any insight with be very helpful! thanks.
