How can I truly know what my Herpes symptoms are?

I had a blood test done 10 years ago and I tested positive for HSV. I am now having problems with infections, yeast or BV and my doctor is trying to tell me that my yeast infections I’m getting every other month are a herpes outbreak.
Keep in mind when I go in I test positive for yeast or BV, but I do not go in every time.
I have never had any outbreak that I know of nor has my husband of 9 years.
I am trying to use all my resources to understand what is going on.

Do you know if it’s HSV1 or HSV2 that you tested positive for? If not, You need to type specific IgG test to find out what strain. That might give you some clarity. Repeated infections could be a sign of HSV. Doesn’t mean it is, but you should find out what strain you have and take it from there. Hsv can mimic other things and is often mistaken for yeast or bv.

Thanks I’m afraid to ask them. I’ve been really mean and calling them every day almost with a bunch of questions.
They keep saying that the issues I’m having are most likely HSV symptoms but I don’t understand how that can be when I tested positive for BV the last time I was in.
It was HSV 2 done by an IGG they do not have a number value with that though according to them.
It would be a good idea to get an IgG type specific test WITH index values to confirm. There is a “grey area” with IgG testing. I assume you have never had a typica outbreak of sores or cuts or abrasions. While I know it seems odd. BV could very well be how an outbreak is manifesting itself. Bacteria can be tricking to pin point but having it repeatedly makes me think that maybe internal outbreaks are prompting the infections. I am not a doctor and my knowledge comes from reading and research.
I think it would be best to get a test with values to see what they are. Confirming by a blood test is good if the values are above a certain threshold (3.5) but if not, you need confirmation that might not come from an IgG alone.
Also, if you are in fact positive and your doctor thinks the BV or yeast IS an HSV symptom, have you been prescribed antivirals? If not, I would wait until AFTER you test to start taking them but if positive, taking a suppressive dose of an antiviral daily could reduce or stop or the infections all together. You would still have HSV obviously, there isn’t a cure but if it stops or slows down the recurrences, then it would bring you much relief. Good luck! Keep a good attitude and tak control of this the best you can!
And just an FYI, if your doctor gives you any guff about another IgG, you can order them online on different websites (stdcheck.com is one).
Sjemom, I am experiencing something like you. I have never been tested but im sure I have it. In the last year I have gotten so many yeast infections, it's crazy.
