How likely is it that my HSV test will be a false positive ?

I recently went to the OB for my yearly check-up. I have only been with 3 people sexually since my last test. 2 of which were unprotected penetration (both in relationships) and receiving cunnilingus from 1, the most recent contact. I went into the office thinking everything was okay, considering I haven't had any symptoms of anything. It was just a routine check-up. At the time of testing , I hadn't been sexually active (penetration) in a month and a half. The oral contact , however, was more recent ( more than 3 weeks but less than 4) My test came back positive for Chlamydia, as well as, HSV. My nurse gave me my results using the wording that " When AB is combined, I test positive. However, when split to determine type, both return negative." She indicated that I should retest in 6 months. I am nerve wrecked and emotionally distraught because I have never been infected with anything prior to this circumstance, this was my first appointment with this specific office, and 6 months is a long time to wait to determine my status. How am I supposed to know how to approach relationships if I don't know my status for sure?( I probably won't be dating again considering I feel like dirty now) Anyways, specifically, my questions are...

1. Can you receive a false positive for HSV if you are infected with Chlamydia at the time of testing? ( I read somewhere that IGM antibodies are the first responders to Chlamydia infections as well as HSV. Are they the same kind of antibodies ? Do the tests distinguish the difference?

& 2. According to my lab results;
My HSV type 1 and/or 2  IGG & IGM is 1.79 (which indicated detection)
HSV 1/2 Combined Ab, 4.29 IGG (detected)
HSV 1 AB, IGG, 0.87 (negative)
HSV 2 AB, IGG, 0.40 (negative)

What are the odds of my situation being a case of false positive testing ? Like I said, I have no symptoms, have never tested positive, and have had really no contact since almost a month before my test. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did things turn out ?

This testing was ridiculous. Igm tests are useless and so are combined testing. Disregard both of them. Test again in a month or two. Igg only and type specific. No igm or combined.
Here is how I see it. Your hsv1 igg is up there a bit. Hsv1 testing is not great and igg blood tests miss between 10 an 30% of infections. So you may have a long standing oral infection. Even if you don't get cold sores. This is common. I would bet the kitchen sink you do not have hsv2 of the genitals. Most Dr's are clueless on hsv and testing. Sorry you had to deal with this confusion and being told your positive.
Do not go on antivirals. Wait to test again at the 8 week Mark. This will be a great indicator.
Hope this helps a little bit.
